Liturgy and worship service on the International AIDS Memorial Day
Every third Sunday in May, International AIDS Memorial Day is celebrated around the world. On May 18, 2019, a liturgy and memorial worship service were held in St Panteleimon Church in the Infectious Clinical Hospital No. 2 in Moscow. People that died on HIV/AIDS were commemorated. Sisters of Mercy and volunteers of the Palliative Care Service for HIV-infected people, patients from various departments of the hospital, as well as representatives of the Association of People Living with HIV took part in the services. After the services a meeting was held, were participants discussed a wide range of questions: how to prepare for confession, how to pray, how and when to open the diagnosis to friends and to those with whom one would like to start a family. One of the issues discussed was registration in the clinic and receiving antiretroviral therapy for non-residents. The participants agreed to help each other and join forces in the fight against the spread of HIV/AIDS.
