The Moscow Seminary of Church Music

begins enrolling students for 2001-2002 academic year

The Seminary of Church Music at the church of the Theophany in down town Moscow trains precentors and choir singers for church divine services. The training lasts 3 years and 10 months. It is free.

The first-year students are trained as Readers. The first-year graduates are granted Reader's certificate.

The second-, third- and fourth-year students are trained as precentors, singers and choirmasters of liturgical choirs.

The applicants should hold the secondary school certificate and command the knowledge and skills within the volume given by the children's music school. The applicants are to be interviewed by the seminary administration, to write a Russian dictation and take entry exams in Solfeggio, Piano, Conducting and Catechism.

Applications are received from June 10 to 30 and August 13 to 19, 2001, at the address given below.

Entry exams are taken from August 20 to 26, 2001.

The Seminary will hold an Open-Door Day on May 13, 2001, beginning from 14.00.
